How EPF Works
- Employee Contribution: 12% of your Basic Salary plus DA goes to your EPF account.
- Employer Contribution: 3.67% goes to EPF and 8.33% goes to EPS (pension scheme).
- Interest Rate: EPF currently earns 8.25% per annum for FY 2024–25, compounded monthly.
- Tax Benefit: Contributions are tax-deductible under Section 80C up to ₹1.5 lakh in a financial year.
- EPS Cap: Pension scheme contribution is calculated on a maximum pensionable salary of ₹15,000.
